Busy time of year

Wow! It is December 15th. It is snowing here in York. Doug and Lindsey went Christmas shopping anyway. Kristina and I are on our own at home. We finished our Christmas tree last night. It looks pretty nice. White stuffed bears this year decorate the tree. Our house is decorated on the outside again this year icicle lights are on the roof line. Mary & Joseph with a manger sit on the front yard with a nice star hanging from the tree and we have a spotlight on the scene it looks really nice. Of course we put out our candy canes lining the walkway out front and another star is up on the antenna all lit up. And we have a Santa flag and a little wooden Santa and Mrs. Santa and a Snowman stake I got at a Pfaltzgraff tent sale. We also have colored lights around the front porch with white lighted green garland on the posts holding up the porch roof. And the last thing I remember is one of our pine trees which looks like the right size for a Christmas tree, has colored lights and more colored lights around the garage door frame. You really have to see it to appreciate it. I will try and post some pictures before the lights come down. Hope everyone is having a joyous Christmas season. Linda

Happy Birthday and Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Mom made me do this so here goes- -Lindsey reporting for Down by the Crick. Lately the family has been celebrating a lot of occasions. November 15 was Dad's 46th birthday. Lindsey took the honor of decorating the entrance with streamers and hanging up signs and blowing up 2 balloons. he got 2 Sudoku books from Lindsey, a Garth Brooks cd from Kristina, and a Nascar book and some other cd from Mom. Tomorrow they will be celebrating Thanksgiving with Mom's side of the family. With a turkey feast at Mamaw's house they are sure to have a great time. Lindsey (me) is especially looking forward to the cranberry sauce. November 27 is Mom's birthday. She turns the big 40 this year. The family decided to get her a bunch of red hats and some clothes from Old Lady just to acknowledge her aging. But don't tell her she doesn't know what she is getting yet. This weekend the family is planning on visiting Dad's side of the family in Beaver Dams, NY to celebrate Thanksgiving. They will leave sometime Friday for the 4-hour car drive. Then they will come back sometime Sunday since Dad has to go to work on Monday, even though the girls don't have any school. They always have a ton of fun up there so this weekend will be no different. This year the family will be spending Christmas in NY with Dad's side of the family. Hopefully there will be a lot of snow up there so they can go sledding and skiing and snowboarding. There might even be snow this weekend. Won't that be a ton of fun? Well I'm Lindsey from Down by the Crick signing off. Hope ya'll have a fantastic Thanksgiving!

July 2005

Well, July is flying by. Our vacation was at the beginning of the month, we had a great time(see previous post). It is still really warm here, luckily the humidity has lowered recently and we got a little bit of rain. The tomato, cucumber and pepper plants are all doing well. And the butterfly bush has to be 7 feet tall if not more. We have alot of pumpkin plants started and we are trying to grow watermelons . It is a little early to tell if we will get any fruit from them. We haven't got our vacation pictures off our digital camera yet. As soon as we do Lindsey will put them on the computer at the webshots page there are some pictures there now from disposable cameras when we got cd's instead of prints. Haven't read the sixth book about Harry Potter yet. We are waiting for the library to have a copy we put a hold on we were the 106th person on their list. But the library system in York got like 27 copies. My Mom bought the book at Bj's. She should finish with it soon. That's all for now. Bye.

Vacation 2005

The beach on Sanibel Island by the lighthouse
Hey we are home from Florida! We had a great time on Sanibel Island and at Walt DisneyWorld for 3 short days. The Polynesian resort was cool. The shells were plentiful on Sanibel. And we even got to see some dolphins and a jumping stingray and 2 manatees Mother and child, 2 alligators and a ton of different kinds of birds. 4th of July was cool. We saw the parade and went to the community celebration. We also got to watch fireworks from the causeway. The people beside us setting off fireworks gave us a scare when one started going all over the place and went off in front of our van. At WDW we visited the Animal Kingdom lodge and saw giraffes, zebras, wildebeast, bighorn cattle, flamingos, spoonbills, and other deer like creatures and some other birds too. Of course the geckos were all over the resort area. And we got to have breakfast with Mickey Mouse and Goofy & Chip and Dale at Ohanas. We had supper at Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge and Kristina got Pony Express Certificate for riding the pony express in the resturant. We all got co-pilots cards for riding in the front of the monrail and Lindsey and Kristina loved the volcano pool (Doug and Me too)! Hurricane Dennis gave us a slight scare, but did not really affect our great time. You can see some of our pictures at our Webshots page and more will be added soon.

June 28, 2005

The girls and I picked blueberries this morning. They are just starting to pick them. We are getting anxious to go to Florida. We can't wait. We are taking our bikes and we all have helmets so we will be safe bikers. I hope we don't see any sharks in Florida, the recent attacks are alittle scary. Other wildlife would be fine, we would love to see another Manatee or two and dolphins would be great to see too. We will post pictures of our vacation when we get home. Gotta go, pool is waiting.
